How DocWallet keeps your documents private, how sharing works, and what happens on the day you need them most.
DocWallet is a private, mobile document wallet. It brings your IDs, certificates and family records into one organized place — pre-slotted for your country, watched for expiry, and encrypted end-to-end so only you can read them.
No — we cannot. Your documents are encrypted on your device before they ever sync. The encryption keys are derived from a passphrase only you know and never leave your device in usable form. Our servers only ever store ciphertext, encrypted keys and your public key, so neither we nor anyone else can read your files.
Because your passphrase is what unlocks your master key — and it is never sent to us — we genuinely cannot recover it or reset it for you. That is the trade-off that makes DocWallet zero-knowledge. Keep your passphrase safe; anyone who has it (and only them) can unlock your vault.
Family access is account-level. Enter a family member's email and the number of days you want to grant. Access starts right away — no acceptance needed — and during that window they can view all your stored documents. When the window ends, access expires automatically.
Single-document sharing is file-level. Open any document and share just that one — ideal for one-off requests like a vaccination certificate or a utility bill. The rest of your account stays completely private, and you can revoke the share at any moment.

No. DocWallet is app-only by design — your documents are encrypted and unlocked on your own device. This website is purely informational; there is no way to sign in or view documents in a browser.

Yes. You can export your library in encrypted form, and redact sensitive fields before you share a copy — so a document leaves your vault only in the shape you intend.
